Answer:
why in the world would you leave out a bowl of biscuits for the dog???
cat stuff has way more protein in it so that's why dogs love it.
just relax. if he doesn't like dog biscuits then he doesn't like dog biscuits... no biggie... really.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* UPDATE *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
ohhhh, ok... that explains it.
i always made my own dog food for my boxers. brown rice, loads of veggies cut into large pea sized pieces and little chunks of meat or ground meat. they grew healthy and happy and lived on this for their entire (and full) lives. i also made them biscuits/cookies from rye flour, whole wheat flour, yeast, egg, bulgar wheat, a bit of corn flour (to help move it through their systems), beef or other tasty stock, peanutbutter and whatever else i felt like throwing in there.
i baked them and cut them into little bars as treats.
they loved them and used to watch them bake through the oven window. they KNEW what i was baking and loved me for it!!! just a regoooolar nuts and berries mum, i spoze.
it's not a huge time consumer (1 batch per week) and it's a good thing to do. there's so much processed stuff in these dog foods that it's worth considering.
good luck to you!

How To Make Dog Biscuits
Dog Biscuit Recipe-An Easy Recipe
Homemade dog treats are a great way of rewarding or training a dog, and gives the owner an accomplishment of cooking their best friend with something they have personally prepared for them. Homemade dog biscuits are an easy, cost effective way to help your dog retain certain essential vitamins minerals, and may also increase their life expectancy. Here is a wonderful recipe that is easy to prepare, and tastes great.
Homemade Dog Biscuits:
8 cups of whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons of molasses (Optional): a great source of potassium
2 tablespoons of honey: contains proteins, carbohydrates, vitamin B complex, silica, chlorine, calcium, potassium, sodium, phosphorus, aluminum and magnesium, manganese, plus vitamins C, D, and E.
1/2 cup of dried herbs: some good fall and winter herbs to use would be parsley, rosemary, sage, cayenne pepper, dandelion root, alfalfa, watercress, raspberry leaves and ginger root.
2 1/2 cups of warmed water
2 tablespoons of safflower oil: contains essential fatty acids that aid in proper skin and coat care for dogs.
Begin by preheating your oven to 375 F, and warm up the flour in the oven for a few minutes until it becomes warmed thoroughly. When the flour has been warmed thoroughly, remove from the oven and make a well in the center of the flour. Place the molasses, honey and water in the well and mix to form a sticky dough. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest room temperature for 15 minutes.
After the dough has rested, make a well in the center of it, and add the safflower oil and the dry herbs. Mix the dough thoroughly so the oil and herbs are well incorporated. Shape the dough into small balls, and flatten them to about a 1/4 inch thickness, and place them on a prepared baking sheet (dusted with extra whole wheat flour). Bake the biscuits at 375 F for about 40 minutes until evenly browned. Cool at room temperature and refrigerate.
These may last up to seven days in the refrigerator when properly stored, unless you or your dog gets to them first!
