Spray Foam Roofing
With global warming in its top form, the summer heat has become intolerable and so has the sheets and sheets of rain, that at some point, finds a way to penetrate into the house via the roofing. To get rid of such problems and for effective covering and insulation, people have been finding various methods to protect their houses in one way or another. One such method was introduced in the 1970's. It is known as the Spray Polyurethane Foam or the SPF roofing method.
In this method we use Spray Polyurethane Foam to cover up the roofs in a quick and efficient manner. The material is extremely light, water proof, energy preserver, energy friendly, durable, and very resistant to leaks and cuts and any other damages of any form. The Spray Polyurethane Foam is spread on the roof by Aerating it on the top of the roof surface to bring it to a foam like consistency. This foam is then covered up completely using a material that is a flexible form of coating to seal the the foam and protect it from any kind of weather wearing and damage.
People who live in old buildings or houses or and want their roofs to be Spray Polyurethane Foam protected can easily do the task themselves if they correctly know what to do and posses the right tools to work with. Spray Polyurethane Foam using can be done on roofs that are made up of metal sheets, wood or even concrete and brick. All you will need is a Scraper, SPF A and B component tanks with hoses, SPF application gun and an Acrylic elastomeric coating spray system and you are all set to protect your roof from any leaks and insulate it well enough for the coming years of harsh sunlight and rain.
When you decide to SPF cover your roof, make sure the weather is dry. You do not want your roof to be all wet and damp when you begin working as it can hinder your work and the coatings performance. Begin with cleaning your roof thoroughly. Use the scraper to scrape of all dirt and dust that is gathered on the roof. Use water and soap for effective cleaning. Once done, let the roof dry completely before you start working.
Now bring in your SPF A and B component tanks. Attach hoses to the nozzles provided or attached with the tank. Make sure you do this carefully and the hoses are fixed in place because while working the pressure might let the hoses lose and they may fall off. Connect the other to ends of the hose to the SPF application gun.
You can begin spraying now. Turn on the gun and start spraying the roof from one corner to the other in even long strokes. Make sure you cover all the surfaces and spray very evenly. DO the same thing over and over again to make a number of coats. Each layer should touch the one under it. When done, simply cover up the foam with your covering.
