This only means that they will chew on your sleepers, shoes, fittings, mats, your car's tires, tools in your garage that are on the floor and the barks of trees. Chewing is normal and does help them to feel more relaxed. Aside from this, German Shepherd chewing also helps massage your dog's gums and exercises his or her jaw muscles. Keep in mind that your pet needs to have strong and durable toys which can accomodate his or her powerful chewing without breaking.
In this case, it is sometimes easier for you to ensure that your dog has sufficient chew toys and rawhide to contain his or her chewing pattern rather than trying to train him to stop, which will be practically impossible.
Items that have your smell on them are especially attractive to your dog. This is why it is important to redirect German Shepherd chewing to something else. If you do not attend to this issue constructively, you will predicably lose a pair of shoes.

Not only will this please your pet's chewing energy, tugging on the rope for hours will also offer him with the exercise he needs.
If your German Shepherd keeps on chewing on your favorite old shoes, you may want to consider just giving this to him as a chew toy. Not only will you be setting aside yourself some money, you will be saving the rest of your home fixture and rug from being chewed on.
