What Yoga Means Before Doing It
It will be useful to understand the basic meaning of yoga before you start with your routines. It will be nice that you understand why you need to do such pose of yoga. Yoga simply means in Sanskrit language, to “bring together”. Yoga is a lifestyle that will bring together your body, mind or spirit and breath. Yoga has a deeper meaning, more than just stretching your body and performing all those movements.
Yoga is practically known for being a stress reliever, toning of muscles and increases your flexibility. It also provides you a good sense of mindfulness and holistic approach to yoga practitioners. As a beginner in yoga, it would be best to start with the simple poses, breathing exercise and meditation. Those slow movements will let you be comfortable with yoga. You will also learn how to listen to your body. You can level up with the advanced routines once you're comfortable with the basic movements.
The 1st two poses that your yoga instructor will let you practice are the breathing techniques or the asana and pranayama yoga. Becoming at ease with these 2 routines, it will now give the way on enhancing your mind. Eventually, once you get comfortable with each of the routines, you will complete the eight limbs of yoga.
It is important to start your yoga work-out with a breathing exercise. You can do your breathing exercise while sitting or lying down comfortably with your eyes closed. Just focus on your breathing, prevent on doing anything, don't think of anything and just listen to your breathe. By just listening to your breathing, it will teach you so many things on the state of your body and mind. If you will notice that your breathing is fast and shallow, this means that you are stressed and anxious. What you need to do is to slow down your breathing and you will feel that the stress will start to go away. Your mind and body will relax more by doing the deep slow breathing continuously.
It's best to learn yoga with the help of a qualified yoga instructor. Your yoga trainer will be assisting you every step of the way.
