New Treads in Small Dog Clothes
Watch out Northern America, I have seen the way forward for dog clothes and it's not that I am so certain that I liked it all that much. I had an opportunity to travel to London lately for a business journey to soak up new fashion trends in the dog clothing industry. This industry is now large enough to have its very own global dog clothes show, so that means the class is now deserving of taking notice and exploring the opportunities to help folk on this side of the pond show their love for their dog. There were 3 major trends in dog clothing that are forthcoming. I'd all 2 of them trends and one of them an outright wave.
The first trend is the trend towards clothing that is intended to be worn in layers. Dogs can now wear a light undergarment for spring and fall types of days that's covered by a heavier sweater or sweatshirt like material that's capable of being removed on short notice to allow the smaller dog to enjoy a bit more unpolluted air on walks around the local park. The designs for these layered clothes are available in numerous styles, from sporty to traditional, preppy to gothic. The clientele that these items are intended for are the older generation who has an empty nest and lavishes love onto their four legged pal or the complex lady who takes her dog everywhere by having it next to her in a dog carrier.
The second trend that was noted on the trip is the movement in full body garments. These garments are built to permit your dog to go with you in extreme weather conditions outside to play in the snow or to tag along on a ski trip. The garments fit closely onto each one of the four legs of the animal after being set upon their back to get into the clothing article. The zipper or buttons are then fastened on the bottom so as not to show any of the seams. It gives the appearance that the animal has on long johns like many of us in the Midwest wore when we were children on cold days. Again, the styles are fantastic and the colours and textures of materials knew no boundaries. I particularly liked some of the hand made sets that were available for sale at the show. While I was a small concerned about the ability of the suppliers to meet what could be a great demand, their quality and design styles looked more in line with that of the layered garments seen at the show.
The 3rd and last trend to mention is that of the growing popularity of the items. With added empty nesters showering their pets with love and love, the dog clothing industry is enjoying quite a pleasant boom. As new releases are introduced it'll likely lead to fragmentation of the market for now, this market and product category is an wonderful wonderful place for shops to begin to offer clients top quality prices at attractive margins.

I need to buy my Chihuahua a coat for winter because we live in a very cold area and people tell me I will need to buy one. I also would like to buy him some cute things without spending a lot on "doggie clothing". I am not a paris hilton doggie in a purse type of girl I just think it would be cute...
I want to buy baby clothes because they are cheaper. because the ones at petco etc are expensive...
Answer:
I made my 4lb Yorkie turtle neck sweaters by cutting the arms off of my damaged cashmere sweaters-the band around the wrist was the turtle neck part. I only cut hole for the front legs and left it longer in the back to keep him warm. You can either just cut out the area for the belly and "privates" or make a button and loop fastener on the underside- you could probably get old sweaters to try your own creative hand at this, from the Goodwill or thrift shop. Have fun experimenting!
